Brief Description

We were awarded the project by CBRE, to remove 1no 4,500ltr tank from a tank room at Tower Bridge, London. Tower Bridge is a Grade I listed combined bascule and suspension bridge in London, built between 1886 and 1894.

Scope of work

Due to the location of the tank room, a restricted working area was sectioned off with clear Health & Safety warning signs
Operatives set up a gas monitor to continually monitor the LEL levels around the tank and take readings and record every 15 mins ensuring that works were carried out in the safest possible conditions
A vacuum tanker was set up at the closest point possible and hose run out into the tank and the remaining product uplifted
The tank was cleaned and associated pipework drained and flushed through as much as practicably possible to the boilers
Due to no hot works permitted in the area KpH used cold cutting methods to dismantle the vessel
Skilled team worked in restricted conditions breaking the tank down to manageable sections for removal to a licensed facility
