Brief Description

KpH Environmental was appointed to carry out enabling works at Westbury Cement Works to support environmental remediation and future site use.The scope included fuel storage tank cleaning, degassing and removal, together with excavation, demolition and ground reduction works within a live industrial environment.All activities were sequenced to allow validation sampling and compliant removal of materials.

Scope of work

Establishment of secure work zones using Heras fencing and controlled access within live industrial environments.
Cleaning and degassing of fuel storage tanks, including removal of residual product and sludge via vacuum tanker to licensed disposal facilities.
Controlled dismantling and removal of degassed tanks using excavators, with compliant waste segregation and disposal.
Breakout and removal of associated concrete slabs, bund walls and foundations, with inert materials crushed or removed off site.
Excavation and removal of contaminated soils and redundant substructures, including historic foundations and underground services.
Support to environmental consultants during validation works, including trial pits, sampling and formation exposure.
Backfilling of excavations with imported materials following validation approval.
Reduction to ground level and preparation for validation sign-off and future development phases
