Brief Description

KpH Environmental was appointed to carry out the mechanical strip out of redundant plant equipment within the basement plant room at the Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel. Phase 1 focused on the safe decommissioning, dismantling, and removal of large mechanical systems operating within a confined and logistically challenging space.

Scope of work

Removal of two large chillers including compressors, heat exchangers, and frames
Strip out of associated pump sets, valves, and mechanical pipework
Dismantling and removal of ductwork, motors, and control panels
Isolation, draining down, and safe disconnection of all mechanical services
Lifting and extraction of heavy plant through a restricted access route
Segregation of materials and compliant disposal
Full cleaning and clearance of the plant room in preparation for the next phase

Confined basement access requiring detailed lift planning and staged removal

Coordination with hotel operations to minimise disruption
