Brief Description:
After a long tender process KpH Environmental demonstrated they were the preferred contractor to carry out the safe decommissioning, cleaning and removal of 2no. 250,000ltr fuel storage tanks and associated pipework at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, by a new client Mclaren Group. Queen Elizabeth Hospital is a hospital in Woolwich in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. It was opened in March 2001 and serves patients from the Royal Borough of Greenwich and the London Borough of Bexley. The two tanks were located below-ground level in the basement of the hospital, alongside the mortuary, this sensitive area had to be taken into consideration during works and waste removal, ensuring no obstruction to staff or other contractors.  
Scope of Works
Works comprised of the strip out and removal of the following:
  • 250.000ltrs oil tank cleaned and removed (2 units)
  • Pipework decommissioned, removed and disposed
