Mechanical and Electrical Plant Removal in Stevenage
Brief Description:
KpH were awarded the project to strip out and remove redundant mechanical and electrical plant across 2 Hertfordshire County Council Office buildings, floors and plant rooms to allow the new fit out install by Brith Services Limited. The combined floor plans and plant rooms to be stripped out totalled 19312m² to a detailed programme. KpH put forward a very methodical and careful approach to the strip out works to accommodate the live nature of the offices and call centres within. The project also commenced mid 2021, during COVID-19 pandemic and one of the buildings served as a vaccination centre, so deliveries and waste removals were carefully coordinated and managed and a one way system was adopted throughout the building and car parks. The approach to waste removal from the buildings was completely different due to the live nature of the floors, so KpH put forward solutions to the client to enable the safe removal of waste, one of which meant the opening up of the roof and installing a designed fixed scaffold that served not only the plant room but each floor space. This meant the project could remain on programme and not disturb the COVID Centre and Call Centre.Scope of Works
